Maithili is an illustrator and book designer from India, now based in New York.
She illustrates picture books, while also designing middle-grade and young adult book covers at Scholastic, where she works full time.
Some of her illustrated books include My Best Friend’s Bangles, The Golden Necklace, Nisha Knows Best and more.
Maithili has worked with several publishers such as Penguin Random House, Macmillan Publishers, Simon and Schuster BFYR, Candlewick Press/ Walker Books, Scholastic Press, Hachette Book Group and Little Bee Books.
Recognitions include:
• Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selections: My Best Friend’s Bangles, Crossing the Finish Line, The Golden Necklace, The Bicycle Girl and Indigo Hands.
• Artwork from My Best Friend’s Bangles was selected and showcased at the Society of Illustrators Original Art Show (2024) in New York.
• The Golden Necklace named an Amazon Editor’s pick, and best book ages 6-8.
